In the 1st game tonight we have the Kings taking on the Nashville Predators in what feels like a grudge match game after last weeks slug-fest. The Kings offence has been struggling as of late only scoring 10 goals in 10 games* led mostly by Cnote EvR with 4 goals. That seems to be one of many problems with the LA boys as of late. 5 different goalies have started for LA since the California merger. I spoke with LA Kings owner this morning in an interview.

KW- What is it going to take for you guys to get out of this slump?

C- I think we are one or two pieces away from making this one of the best teams in the PHL...That being said as of right now we need to start getting more pucks on the net and making smarter passes. We turn the puck over way too much and then just sit back and wait our forecheck has been awful in the last couple of weeks.

KW- You took over the team after the San Jose/LA merger last month and since then the Kings have gone through so many changes(people quitting the PHL/Free agents). How hard has that been on you and your team?

C- The transition has been tough but I feel like we have a good squad here we just need to start clicking. The game against Nashville last week was when i knew that we needed to shake things up a little. Not to take anything away from Nashville their Ownership group has really made a good effort to better their team but I feel like we are a better team and we will be looking to show that tonight.

KW- How far do you see this team going?

C- We have the tools to make a serious push here. Repeating as champions in this league is extremely hard to do but I feel if we can start protecting the puck and claiming the ice we will make a solid run.

The Kings will also be playing the PHL leading Dallas Stars tonight in a double header. The Stars are 31-6-2 this season with 0 forfeits...This team is dangerous and the Kings will be in it up to their necks if they don’t jump all over the Stars tonight. LA is 3-5-1-1 in the last 10 games and will need two wins tonight to keep pace with a charging Calgary Flames team.

Look for Kings Weekly every Friday and Sunday...thanks for reading.
