PLAYER RETIREMENT
When a player or owner retires they are ineligible for the current season and the subsequent season.
guess you didnt read the rules so i provided you with the section that pertains to you at the moment. i do suggest reading them all. : )

Re: Un-retiring
Hijakd a simple you have to wait until next season would have done.
And you must not have read all of my post, cause i said if the league would let me, indicating that i am aware what the rules say.

Re: Un-retiring
yes i read your post. if you were aware of the rules, then why would you ask to be reinstated? rules are rules. i mean you havent contributed anything worth while to this league even for us to consider letting you come back this season. even then people who have helped this league in the past have to wait. sorry bro the league doesnt make exceptions for anyone. no one here gets special treatment. just ask borco.
ps...sorry borco for using you as an example if you read this but i had to make a point.

Re: Un-retiring
You are right hijakd i have not contributed anything to the PHL, all my contributions and donations were made to the HVHL. And im not being mean if it sounds that way. I was just asking a simple question at the begining of this post and it was answered, thank you Hijakd

Re: Un-retiring
PLAYER RETIREMENT
When a player or owner retires they are ineligible for the current season and the subsequent season.
Further advertising my newbie rookie status in the PHL, for my edification can someone please enlighten me as to the rational for this rule?
In part I understand that the owner aspect needs to be treated in this fashion given that in choosing / accepting to be an owner you are willingly taking on a more elevated & central role in the PHL and so your subsequent choices, actions and therefore consequences should be governed accordingly.
But how, when it seems that oft times teams struggle to field a complete team week after week and have to supplement their line-up with last minute Free Agent call-ups is refusing a ‘retired’ player who perhaps acted too rashly in retiring or whose circumstances might have changed and now might want to come back the opportunity to do so, is this to the overall benefit of the PHL in any fashion?
I can appreciate that there might be some occasion for abuse with a player jumping in & out of retirement like a jack-in-the –box, and that for whatever reason one could only guess, but could not that and the whole concept of coming out of retirement within a season not be more simply managed & the potential for abuse reduced by stipulating that a player who wants to come out of retirement in a season must still remain the property of the team he /she was last playing for when they retired and / or by placing a one-time mulligan to ‘un-retire’ in a single season.?
I’m almost certain I’m missing the primary raison d’etre for the current rule, but hey, it’s a Friday and I thought what the hell, I’ll throw my 2 cents in and try learn something along the way.
Oh for what it’s worth and what really guts me and I think detracts from the PHL experience, is not the retired player who expresses a genuine desire to come back and be part of the PHL, but the players who sign up to play and then proceed to blow it off week after week. If I were an owner I think the one stat I would be most interested in is a players’ participation rate. What’s the point of wasting a draft pick or making a trade for a player who can’t be bothered to play when scheduled more times than not.
And that is my grouchy old man rant for today

Re: Un-retiring
funny you should post this. we are actually going to retract this rule due to the overwhelming push from players that have been in the league before and have never caused trouble. we will reserve the right to not allow the individuals who caused problems in the league.
