Re: 2013 Draft
Jones is a little too hyped up because he is an American. Barkov could have just as easily been first. 4th is where Jones belongs in a draft like this. but flyin' rights, go Mooseheads. can't wait to see where Fucale goes.

Re: 2013 Draft
Brodeur picks his son 208th in the draft? Anyone else think this was just flat out silly? His son is only 5'10" (though it is important to note he is 18 years old, he can still grow another inch or two i suppose) according to NHL.com and last time I checked, the direction NHL scouts are going in, it would seem that unless you are 6'2" or taller, you have almost no chance whatsoever making it to the NHL from any development system.
Unnecessary publicity stunt in unnecessary.

Re: 2013 Draft
Well that's a good point...(I overlooked that didnt I?) I think it's great that if he is serious about trying to make it into the NHL, he will be in the same organization as Marty. The only concern I would have is that he has already been drafted out of high school. Does anyone think that will hurt his development, as he has the comfort of knowing he has already been drafted?
As far as developmental leagues are concerned, I read somewhere that he plans on playing with Gatineau Olympiques next season. (once again this shows how far behind the NCAA is...but that's for another discussion) In high school, he consistently recorded .900 Save Percentage (best being this past season at .923) and up. But his GAA was always above 2.00 (Not saying its bad, thats actually good. But he never played 30 games in a single season in high school)
I would love to find video on this guy to take a serious look at how he plays the game. (Martin says that his son takes a bit of his Stand-up style of play and combines it with the more modern goaltending styles they teach...so who knows what he does?) But for now, looking at those stats, do you think he has what it takes to play in the NHL?

LOL seriously? Because he's american, he's a joke? get real, bud. Jones was the best defenseman in the draft and was projected 1st-2nd. get real, watch highlights of the kid.

Re: 2013 Draft
No one said jones was a joke. Just people think as a defensman he shouldnt of been projected 1st to begin with lol nothing against dmen but with so much offense in draft, it only made sense he slipped down to where he did. Look a hedman, no comparing skill jus history of top D picks. Nun really shine at nhl level. But then again im only going by what i kno. Im not a nhl historian.
