Calgary Insider - vs LA 6/2

When Calgary and LA play there is never a tight game to be had, luckily tonight for Calgary Toplezz brought his goal scoring stick. also after realizing that LA only signed Superhand for a one day contract Calgary signed him to play right wing for them. The hope was that his valuable inside information on LA's system would prove to be beneficial, Superhand's vocal communication throughout the game did show to be very useful in defeating the Kings.

At 5:05 in the first period BorcoBaby cleared the puck down the ice and hit LA's goalie, the puck sat between his legs and as he stood up, left winger Toplezz came in and poked the puck in for the first goal of the game. It was a lucky situation that Calgary never argues about getting. It was later discovered after the game LA's goalie received a message from Wayne Mannarino about how great the Taylor Swift concert was and that they should go together next time. Luckily the message was distraction enough for Toplezz to poke home the goal. "I saw Borco shoot the puck down and I just skated into their zone, the goalie made the save but the whistle didn't blow and he was just standing there so I went in for the poke and the red light came on," Toplezz said about the goal. Someone needs to tweet Ms. Swift and tell her to stop distracting LA Goalies, only in Hollywood I guess.

Four minutes later LA took advantage of a defensive fumble behind the net and sent a cross-crease pass to tie the game. Obey had made some nice saves prior to the goal but that was a perfectly placed pass he had no chance on. Calgary's defensive tightend up after that goal and that would be the only goal LA would score in the game.

At 15:51 of the first period Defesman IceMoose took a pass from Toplezz and sent a beauty across the crease to a waiting BorcoBaby who tapped it home to take the lead. Toplezz would score the only goal in the 2nd period poking the puck loose from a LA defender and skating it in alone to score. Over the past couple games Toplezz has been seen really making use of his speed and agility to jump on loose pucks and creating several scoring opportunities, and tonight was no different.

The defense decided to get in on the scoring when IceMoose took a pass from fellow D partner Margefrovechkin and blasted a shot far side to go up 4-1 midway through the third. IceMoose said, "it's not very often my shots at the point don;t get blocked or go wide, it was nice to get one tonight." Toplezz continuing to produce and pad his leading totals for Calgary finished off his hat-trick with assists from Borco and Moose

Obey's 19 saves, many of them at times point blank shots, allowed Calgary to pull away and hold onto their lead. He has really stepped up in a big way splittling net duities with BorcoBaby and Calgary finished the weekend 4-2.
