Obey burries OT winner to cap of 2-1 win
Calgary was looking to bounce back from two losses the night before. The game started off strong as both teams tested the goalies early on. Calgary killed off two penalties in the first period and even got a shorthanded goal from the Flames leading scorer Toplezz.

Nashville controlled play very well during the next couple periods and even though he was only tested 12 times, Calgary goalie BorcoBaby made some key stops to keep the score tight. Nashville scored to tie the game at one midway through the second, and the game was a back and forth defensive battle from that point on.

Steady defense was welcomed by Calgary as they were unsure how things would pan out when they learned during warmups that regular Dman Rain had a hot date that could not wait so newcomer Backlund was thrown into the lineup. He filled in nicely pairing with Moose and they gained quick chemistry.

With Nashville taking a penalty in OT, Flames center Obey made use of the man advantage taking a pass from NHL Devils and making some gorgeous moves to find room and score the game winner. It was Obey's only shot of the game but he made it count and ensured the win for Calgary, a fact he was not shy about pointing out. "I pretty much put this team on my back, I'm used to it, I do it all the time, what can I say? I'm Swedish!" Not known for his humility Obey earned the right to brag tonight. The win was Calgary's 4th OT win on the season and they were happy to get the full two points.
