Re: Player Retire
First off, I would like to say that any slander that may have come from Josky or Xob3y was purely out of anger. Josky just seemed mad the whole weekend to be honest, and to make things worse, I couldn't reach him or ob3y because my internet decided to become unreliable during the first week of games....-.- so yeah, i have to apologize on behalf of my modem. Of course, I probably shouldnt have been angry about their anger either but...
This is getting out of hand though people. I think I have counted now 5-7 people who have already retired within the first two weeks? Its a game, a horribly programmed one at that, and horrible things are bound to happen. You cant just quit because things aren't going so smoothly and you are losing. Part of being in this league means you are part of a community of like-minded individuals who want to enjoy the game without dealing with the bs that happens in OTP and club matches. Right now, this is worse than dealing with OTP or club because team management can't just pull players out of thin air when there are only 6-7 people in F/A due to sign-up eligibility rules and whatnot.
Think of it this way, imagine you finally get to accomplish your dream of making it to the NHL, but it turns out the first team you make it on to is an expansion team. Between the team owner trying to hire suitable GM and AGM and coaches and trainers and medical staff...etc. there is bound to be some confusion and some difficulty getting used to team practices feeling like nobody's getting any better or there may be only one decent player on a team. In fact, that decent player who everyone else counts on may be you. What, you're just going to be fed up about everyone else not being on your level and just quit? No, you're going to play as hard as you can because you are the savior of the franchise at that point in time. Even better, team funding might be lower than most of the league, so you might not get a decent contract within the first 5 years. But guess what, you gotta deal with it. You signed up to play, and you have to deal with some difficulties. Remember how both the Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets were just starting up? Look how far those two teams have come, both being able to make a push for the playoffs, and almost ending Detroit's playoff appearance streak.
Take the time to think about what I said.

Re: Player Retire
I agree with you Hunter. I think it's lame when people quit because their teams blows or whatever, but in all honesty, those NHL guys get paid for it. It's easier to stick around when you're making 1 to 8 million a season.

Also. I do not even want to be part of this discussion so just disregard my previous message. I don't know what I was thinking.

Re: Player Retire
I don't blame anyone for retiring. as Martin pointed out we don't get paid for this. Sometimes life happens, and you just don't find yourself having as much time as you did before, or you lose interest. I respect obey, and I respect others who post their retirement, that's about all we can ask. I hold no grudges towards obey josky on the other hand...well ya

Re: Player Retire
if players decided to quit after opening night. I dont feel the need to stay Owner anylonger. I rather spend my summer out of Xbox. And owners should make sure their player know the gameplay rules before opening night
